Default Okuma Halogen Rod

I couldn't pass this up. At target they had this rod there and apparently it came with an Okuma reel (which was missing) cause when they "price checked" it for me it came up as a combo. Well the lady didn't know anything about fishing and she didn't know how much to charge me for it so, she found a rod that "looked like it", which was a berkley rod and she gave it to me for the same price of $14. I couldn't pass it up, so I was wondering if you guys might know anything about it or have one and tell me how it is. Its a med action 6'6" casting rod.

Is it a 2 piece spinning rod? I wasn't sure if they made a one piece Okuma or not...anyways, ya probably didn't get hurt! I've seen them in catalogs for 24 bucks, but its hard to tell what model you bought.
Here's a link to help you determine the price, combos for 99-129 etc

I didn't get the reel, just the rod. Was wondering if anyone has any opinions on rod.

Love the Okuma Rods and Reels, very smooth reels and great rods very sensitive. Have UL fresh to Heavy Salt also planning on the 12 ft surf may get the 15ft just for the heck of it.
What you have maybe a salt water fluke combo ( - the reel ) I sell a lot of them in my store.

Tried an Okuma spinning reel that Wal-Mart sold a few years ago. Yes, smooth reel, BUT made line twists out the A## and the parts came loose after a few weeks. Not sure about the rod, but if the quality is anything like the reel then I'll probably not ever purchase Okuma gear again.
