For mono I usually go Triline in 12 I have both clear and green strung up now. For my frog rod 40 lbs red powerpro. Red just because I can see it better.

Since I throw my frogs into so much junk I like to know what I might have wrapped the line around before I start to retrieve. Green in tullies, scum and pads was not much help to me.

But can the fish see that color if you are in clear water and the fish would have the opprutunity to see the line

That will begin one of the big debates......
Supposedly red is the first color in the spectrum to disappear. Green is also visible upto a certain depth, but I don't recall what it is. There are just as many people who will tell you that it does not matter as those who will jump up and down screaming braid scares fish. Since I use it for deep jigging and throing into the slop I have no worries about it being seen. If visibility is a concern then I would suggest adding a leader of either flouro or mono.

I want to use some heavier braids for casting to trees as well as weeds and the fish would probably be able to see the line in the water. I saw some yellow lines,do they disappear or is that color for the angler?

It all goes back to our science classes and ROY-G-BIV. This represents the color spectrum and also means the wavelength to each color. As light penetrates the water, the it begins to strip away wavelengths needed to reflect a particular color. Red is the first to go, then Orange and so on. Since yellow is third on that list you will hit a depth where it no longer shows color, but that will occur at a greater depth. It is important to point out that no colored braid disappears. It simply stops reflecting light. Meaning that it may in fact appear as a black line.
I would think that the baits you are going to fish, along with technique should drive the color question. If you are focusing on top water, then I don't think color really matters much at all. If you are looking to throw worms at the 5-10 foot mark then I suggest adding a leader. The braid has no stretch at all and you will find your self dodging flying lures and worms on a couple of hook sets. A guy that i fish with throws braid for everything. His preference is to darken the last 3 or 4 foot of his line with a black sharpie. He will repeat this throughout the day.

the fireline smoke is a black color i would think that would be more visible but thats just me if you are really concerned with the fish seeing your line go to fluorocarbon or a clear mono .
As far as the lines I use Fluorocarbon I use Seaguar invizx #12 to #20 Mono Berkley Big Game in Solar Collector #12 yes that is the name of the color Braid Power Pro Moss Green #30 to #50 Jim

I've thought about the red line color spectrum question quite a bit. I scuba dive from time to time, and just from personal experience I can tell you that at least to the human eye, you can't noticeably tell the dissipation of red in the color spectrum unless your deeper than 20ft even then it slowly fades to grayish darkish tones. Now I'm guessing that the majority of members on this board probably catch the major percentage of their fish above 20 ft. Even then unless you have some seriously awesome water clarity at 20ft theirs probably not going to be all that much light penetrating that deep anyways. So while I have fished the cajun before, and its a decent enough line especially for being able to see it, for my two cents unless the conditions are just right, you'd be better off to go with a flourocarbon to reduce visibility in the water.

seaguar invizx for jigs and texas rigs, p-lineCX for crankbaits, and still trying to settle in on a favorite braid for flipping and pitching.
