Default high speed high torque c/b

I am using a curado D high speed for cranking.
has anyone tried the same? I am using it on a m/h c/b rod
with 12pound test. I am in the trial and error period. but I suspect
that it should be a great set up this summer.

That ought to work great for shallow cranks. For deeper/bigger baits you might go with a low speed reel. Throwing those big baits like a DD-22 is a real crap out with a high speed reel. I use a BPS David Fritts reel with a 4.7:1 gear ratio and throwing one of those big bruisers isn't any harder than throwing a Bandit 200.

I'd say for shallow cranks, it would be good. but like Reb said, if you go to deep diving baits, then you'll probably want a low speed reel. And a low speed reel is what is going to give you torque.

I wouldn´t fish deep diving cranks with that set up for a couple of reasons:

1.- Most deep divers don´t like to be reeled in at high speed, they roll on their side and move all over the place.

2.- If given the case you find a deep diving crank that can take being reeled in at high speed without rolling on it´s side and runs straight then you´ll find yourself like kinda reeling in a bucket.

Sound advice for deep diving cranks. Low ratio reel lets the crank do it's job as intended. Will also save you sore arms and hurtin' wrists. Your rod choice is dead on. The longer the better.
