Default Failry easy bait older

I stumbled upon this last night, but it appears to work fairly well.

I use a lot of swimbait/frog hooks. The ones you can screw your bait onto to hold it in place.
As a smoker, I have gone through my share of disposable lighters. Well yesterday I had some lint stuck in the wheel and the lighter would not turn. in my attempts to repair it, I managed to shoot the flint across the room. This led to the discover that the flint is pushed up with a 2" spring that is small enough in diameter to be used to make my own bait holders. I ended up cutting it in half and putting the halves on some 5/0 hooks. I messed around casting into the pond at work for 15 or 20 minutes and it held just fine. I was tossing into the tullies and the bait did not slip any more than it would with one the manufactured swim bait hooks.

Suggest a suggestion for those of you who are cheap like me prior to throwing your empty lighters away.

I tried those before, but the springs were a little to flimsy for me

I hate most screw on bait holders, but then I found the Owner Twist Lock ones. That bait keep is awesome and a lot easier to use with the little center pin than others. A 5/0 owner Twist Lock is all i use for frogs.

I am with you on not really liking them, but with horny toads or a large worm that I am going to throw into heavy brush. I also throw the owner long neck hook with the top barb and adjustable rubber stopper to help keep the bait from slipping.

If I am in a spot where I know I will be sticking with one bait like a frog, I will just glue the frog to the hook.
