Not a bass but a new personal best!
After a disappointing finish in my Guntersville tournament on Saturday I decided to swap gears and took my dad out on the river for some catfishing. Didnt catch massive amounts of fish, but when we did it counted! This was my second fish of the day and a new personal best in freshwater. Previous best was when i was 11 years old and caught a 12 lb blue cat...according to my p.o.s. rapala scale it said this one was 28 lbs BUT weighing it against some other items we think it came in a little closer to 35 lbs. Needless to say I was excited and it made for a GREAT Father's Day for the both of us.

Fish is too long and fat to only be 28lbs. I've caught enough of them in that size range to be pretty good at guessing. Even if it is 28lbs though you still got a pretty nice catfish!

Since you have caught alot of fish in that size range, around what do you think that fish actually did weigh?

I would say about 32-34 lbs..
But without my elbow scale it is just a guess. Did you eat it? Capt Mike

I'd agree with Captain Mike, probably in the low 30's, unless you are just a small guy, but even then just looking at how long, fat, and tall top to bottom that fish is there is just too much fish there to be in the 20's I think. That fish would have to be a lot slimmer to be in the 20's.

I also agree that fish is closer to 35lbs than it is to 28lbs. She is a toad for sure!
