You ought to see the Largemouth the won the Big Bass contest. It tipped the scales at 9+ pounds. I heard that many of the TX anglers had to release big 20's and 20 1/2 inch Smalljaws, due to the protective 16 - 21 inch slot limit. It's no wonder that the Green Bass are winning it for them.

Here's a pic of the 9 pound 4 ounce Bucketmouth that was caught last weekend at the Dale Hollow BFL Tourney.

It looks like our weather for late April is trending towards the wetter conditions. Just in case, don't forget your raingear.

I am planning on using two of my vacation days for this trip, Thursday and Friday. I plan to leave work Wednesday the 23rd with boat in tow, and hope be at the Marina by 7pm CT.

This might be a good time to announce your estimated arrival time. For those of us in the Eastern Time Zone, don't forget that Dale is Central Time. I'm looking forward to seeing you all!

If I had to choose between the two I would say topwater. But that is only if I already have a swimbait rod. And when I say swimbaits I'm referring to the 3 inch soft swimbaits rigged with 1/4 ounce or lighter heads, more specifically the Big Hammer Swimbaits, Sexy Smelt, Smallie Chaser, Sarah's Shad. I like using a 7 ft. medium power rod with a fast action.

Thanks, woody!

I actually don't have a dedicated swimbait rod, since I've never thrown em

The frog rod is a lil stout, I'm thinkin. 7' MH (H in my opinion) and MF

I think my jig n worm rod will piggyback the swimbaits pretty well

The reports that I'm hearing is that the brown fish have moved up and are slamming the soft swimbaits. Some reports of jerkbaits, but not as many as the swimbaits and A-rigs.

From what I'm hearing is that it all depends on water clarity. Some reports of jerkbaits catching a few in clear water. And even some reports of crankbaits catching a few in dirty water.
