Default lowrance xd50 ds

I'm getting ready to purchase the tracker pro guide v sc 16 for a combination, bass, striper and trout fishing. I'm not familiar with the lowrance xd50 ds fish finder that comes with it. Should I upgrade. I have at present a hummingbird 535 fish finder on my other boat, (selling it) It seems to work ok for depth, temp, speed. etc. It reads fish ok, but I'm not totally skilled at understanding it. Since I'm not a major bass pro by any means, will this be enough.

Both are simple down imaging the dx costing about 120 bucks and the 535 about 150.
One the dx operates on two freq, the bird on one but both rather simple entry level fish finders, both being about the same,in what they do.So if one satisfies you the other should come close in results if not in the exact same operation, personally im a bird fan,but other than screen differences doubt if it can find anything the other cant.
Change that to hd AND ONE HAS A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.
But I myself are at home with a Piranha max20 (wide 100 prior to that)just as well as my 785c2i,all the power cords etc interchange as same family of fish finders.
You will find the simple down imaging will operate better on plane at speed than most 700 dollar units.(60mph+)
While my pirhana lost the pic screen around 70 ,it still gave actual depth readings to 92mph.
Your tracker will never blink it out, being a down imager.
