a fairly new item
i was fishing this afternoon with a guy who was using rapala stretch braid. with a crankbait.. i cast it a few times. it seemed ok i did not get as much distance as i thought i would have. but that could have been the reel settings..the feel was about like any braid but it has the forgiviness of mono -according to him- has anyone tried this stuff?? i want more info..
oh yeah the guy gave me the 08-09 rapala factory catalog..which covers all 5 rapala company's.. zooker

I haven't even heard of it but it sounds like an interesting concept - that is, if it lives up to the hype.
What kind of new stuff is rapala putting out? |

Sounds interesting. Also sounds expensive. How could I get the Rapala Catalog?

Wonder what fiber they are using to make it? I thought Kevlar was by definition a zero stretch material. Its what they use to make bullit proof vests.

Yeah Zook, I have used it on my spinnerbait rod, just a matter of getting used to the low stretch after using the PP, but still I could get a good hook set. It's not one of my better lines to use. But then again It hasn't been on the market that long for me to make a good judgment call. Carpy

Ok carpy got a question fer ya. Does it still retain its sensitivity factor with the added benefit of a certain amount of stretch and as wel does it still retain its power. Come on man this has got my interest up being a PP user I have always wished it had some stretch for certain applications.

F Laser, I will say this line is a very abrasive resistant and yes it does maintain its power and sensitivity. I fish a lot of rip-rap and wood and have had no problems with hook sets, no problems with nicks in the line or breakage. I plan on using it more this coming year with cranks and soft baits so I can get a better feel. I haven’t used it enough to say that I like it more than PP. Carpy

Dacron . Its been around for years, now its being formulated with the superlines to get specific techniques. I have been using the Stren sinking braid line alot last year when trolling, it does help take the bow out of the line when trolling, resulting in a better strike indication.I am going to spool up my jig rod with it for next year, just to see if it will help , or hurt the catch ratio.I think I will pas on the stretch braid. I don't mind using the drag and a rod with some flex in the rod tip. P N J
