Default Lew's Reels?

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with the newer Lew's reels? Specifically the tourament pro or the team lews? If you have used one or have an opinion on them, Let's here it.

Ryan, I have three of the Tournament Pro's and a Speed Spool. I have been fishing them for almost a year now. They (TP) cast very well, and are smooth on the retrieve, I have had no problems with any of them. At one time I thought that I might replace my Abu's with them, but changed my mind after purchasing a Premier.

I find them to be a little better reel than the Carbonlite and PQ, but probably not enough to justify the difference in price.

Yeah after throwning it against a 2011 (gold) Carbonlite, I feel the TP is a little bit better in the casting department, and the only reason I bought it was becasue the gold Carbonlite's are no more. I tried the new JM Carbonlite but was unhappy with it. I suppose I could buy a PQ, then buy an aluminum gearset, aluminum crankshaft, and wormgear, but with all of that said, I may as well just buy a tourney pro for $179.

I have a Tournament Pro and used it a bit last year. I like it pretty well and have no complaints. It feels a bit bigger and stronger than my gold Carbonlite. I consider the Lew's a better all-around reel for most applications.

Is BPS discontinuing the gold Carbonlite? If so they are idiots, 4.8 out of 5 star rating and I really like mine.

Couldn't agree with you more. The gold Carbonlite was a huge success for them, and now they go and get rid of it. I will be all over ebay for a while now, buying all I can get.

I have a few old Lew's reels and I like them. I forget what model they are but they were around $100. They cast far and are smooth.
