Best Flippin Bait?
I am a big fan of reaction innovations sweet beaver, but the poser bait beast and others are looking good. Anyone wanna share their best flippin baits? Color choices and water clarity would be helpful.

Are you asking as a trailer on a jig, or as a plastic by itself?
By itself: Fat IKA in Black is my main choice as far as plastics go. I use it almost any water clarity. There are times where I want a bigger profile and will throw either a sweet beaver or brushhawg. Trailer: I very based on the fall rate.

I have been pitching a wooly hawg tail from yum or a jig mostly , i just rather pitch than flip , color wise green pumpkin black/blue and the likes . try hitting the search tab at the top of the screen and type in flipping it will bring up all the past posts with that in them .

Last year I had a great time pitchin the Reaction Sweet beavers as well as the Peca Craws. Recently, I picked up some Strike King Rodents and Yum Wooly HawgCraws. My favorite colors are black, black blue/blue flake, watermellon red flake.

the NetBait paca craw in summer craw has been my flipping choice the last two years, thanks to the guys here that told me about it couple of years ago, I had never even heard of it...so after my first few packs I bought dozens on packs and luv em...the other choice I am using this year is reaction innovations sweet beaver, the roadkill color is killer on our brookville lake bass. Third choice is unckle josh pork rind..but theres a handfull of trailers that work great that I've never used, but hear about them over and over on here.
Jigs are all Thunderstruck jigs from kory, before that I used Stanley. |

I don't do a ton a flipping and pitching, but I love a craw, especailly the Chigger Craw or Rage Tail Craw with a pegged weight.

I flip a camo brush hog mostly, and some times go old school and flip a kalins grub in amber with pepper flake. I also use some crawdad plastics if I can find ones I like.

I've only used these once, but loved them, Gary Yamamoto Flappin' Hog in green pumpkin purple copper I think it's called! They work great for flippin' around hyrilla mats, I got them not to long ago too! It was in light stained water..... when the sun was high! Used it on a 5/0 gammey EWG and a 1/2 oz weight. I'd try the rage tail space monkey and craw though!
Good luck and good fishin'

I will be concentrating mostly on lay downs and stumps with a lot of erosion around them, so I am concentrating on the root systems. I usually like to go with 1/2 oz for my jigs and 3/4 for flipping or pitching plastics.

Were do you live in Idaho? I used to live in coeur d alene(up north) there was awesome largemouth fishing up there, and a couple of nice smallies once in a while, but Waylon Parker of www.custombigbassbaits.com makes a identical sweet beaver, he charges $4 for 20 in any color you want, he makes a ton of other stuff and its super cheap |

I ran out of brush hogs 2 years ago and hadn't thought to replace them, I liked flipping them. Have to get some more, good big profile bait that seems to kinda halfway go between jig and worm.
