Default Hummingbird finder 535 questions

I have always had Eagle or Lowrance really bottom line finders an now with my hummingbird seems like it does NOT pickup fish the way the eagle does

My thoughts.. the eagle is so cheap it reads things that are not fish and the humming bird is doing a better job of breaking down things ???

What might be going ??

Humminbird has come along way since johnson-outdoors acquired them in '04. I would put the new models up against lowrance anyday...especially the SI units...they are hands down the best on the market.

The 535 is a good unit, but is also a single beam, so you might not be picking up as much of an area as you were with the eagle...also, check your sensitivity levels....I like to throw a 1/4 oz. jig w/3" trailer under my 'ducer and adjust my sensitivity until I can pick it up...this way I know for sure that I'm picking up any baitfish.

Study your manual http://www.humminbird.com/support/FAQ.aspx?faqid=72 a lot of times I can find the answer while on the throne reading my manual...what better time to read technical jargon
