Default 15" size limit has been lifted on Wilson Lake

An article in this weeks newspaper was welcome news for area fishermen. Wilson Lake in Alabama has lifted it's 15" minimum length rule for black bass starting in February. There will be NO size limit for largemouth or spots and the smallmouth minimum will now be 14".

This will help tournament fishing tremendously. I have caught largemouth in the fall that weighed close to 3 lbs. and only measured 14 1/2". Now everybody has an excellent chance of weighing in a 5 fish limit. Granted a sack full of 12" fish will not win many tournaments but it's better than coming back in with the same old story....I caught a bunch today but they just wouldn't measure.
