2006 BassFishin.Com Big Bass Forum Tourney
OK guys, we will probably have a few month long tourneys like we have had in the past, but JB came up with an idea for a year long big bass tournament. Here's the deal:
Beginning midnight January 1, 2006 and ending midnight Dec 31, 2006 we will have a year-long big bass tournament. There will be a prize for the biggest largemouth and biggest smallmouth submitted during the year determined by Zooker and myself on or about 01/01/07. All fish must be caught on a rod and reel using an artificial bait. A picture will be required, and weights will be determined using the formula found here: BassFishin.Com Forum Tournament Weight Calculator So take a tape measurer with you. Scale weights will not be accepted since different scales can give different weights due to different calibrations. Zooker I believe is donating 2 custom made Zook-n-stein spinnerbaits for each winning fish, and I'll throw in a couple of baits, probably a Lucky Craft Pointer for each category. You must be a member of the forum when you catch the fish-catching one in June and joining the forum in December and entering the fish will not be allowed. This will be on the honor system, so let your conscience be your guide. Good luck!

That's it. Catch a toad and weigh it in. Heaviest largemouth and smallmouth wins.

I don't think there is a smallmouth within 50 miles of me, maybe closer to 100. I'd love to fish for em sometime, they seem like a lot of fun to catch.

I will be targeting Smallmouth Slabs. I have the river, The Valley and Spruce Run. Possibly Merril Creek. Altough a Largemouth could also pop up.

Alrighty, boys, here is what Kevin suggested:
Quote:
We'll have a big bass tourney each quarter. Kevin is willing to donate some prizes for the quarterly winner, and I'll throw in a Lucky Craft pointer for the winners at the end of the year. I think Zooker will be willing to donate the Zook-n-Steins, but I'll let him decide that. I like the idea of the fish with some kind of ID as proof-that will make it legit, and the weight will be determined as stated above-using the weight calculator. So there it is. Good Luck!

i am fine with the quarterly tourny. i may provide some tackle as prizes-other than the zook-n-stein's- my offer still stands biggest bass-large mouth and small mouth- caught in any 06 TOURNY gets 2 stiens built, rigged, and tuned to my personal specs.

Just let me know when you want to market those spinnerbaits in Northern country Zook. I'll be happy to prostaff your baits in WI, MI, and MN.
That said I know being in Wisconsin "ya'll" down south got me big in the green fish category, but rrw and I will put up some 6lb smallies from the northern waters. |

I've been an advocate of stringent photo rules regarding these tourneys since we began. For the big bass, it should be even more exact so I agree with Kevins suggestion there.
Also, I am still confused by our tourney rules regarding the monthly contests. In the beginning we said there were seperate lake, river and pond categories, but I don't think we really ever put that into practice. If, per chance, we agree that to have only one category covering the monthly tourneys I garanatee yall I will be weighing in some smallmouth, and perhaps redeyes or shoalies. I even stand a fair chance at winning some of the deep summer tourneys on stream smallies.

WTL, we're just going to keep it simple-bigggest bass, regardless where you caught it. One prize for LM, one for SM.
