which of these 3 would you choose?
well, i am having a birthday party in around 2 weeks. on either the 14th 15th or 16th. now, i am having trouble on what to get. i know i want an emerald rod with an ambassedeur, but combos tend to be cheaper. anyways, the shipping on two separate items is more too. fish on can save me 10 bucks, so that means the emerald will be 50 bucks. the ambassedeur will be around 50 bucks too, but shipping will make it around 55. a total of 105 dollars, which i consider a lot. or i could get one of these:
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=search or http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse if you had to stretch your birthday money and perhaps 20 bucks from shoveling snow (assume you got 170 dollars for the birthday), and wanted to start baitcasting, what would you choose? i need an amazing ammount of sensitivity, because i didnt even feel any of the fish i caught bite. no hookset either. |

If you can afford it, this is the one i would go wiht.....Pfleuger is a great name IMO and these Bionic Blade rods are sweet....
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse If you cannot afford it or don't like it, either of the 2 you have links to look like they would be pretty nice outfits as wel |

Ive heard good things about this reel, ive never tried it or the combo, but i just ordered the reel myself, ill tell you how the reel is, im not getting the rod. When i get enough money im gonna buy a better rod. but i got a cheap rod to u se just to test the reel.

Try Ebay for a cheaper baitcaster or get a rhino from Walmart. They are not oo bad and they are really cheap as far as baitcasters go.

Cranky, I understand the urge to purchase something, since I understand it all I can do is to give you advice: donīt waste your money purchasing TRASH, patience is the hardest thing to cultivate, start practicing it now before you make the mistake of purchasing something that in the longer run is not going to hold up well or is not what you were expecting. Save your money until you have enough money to purchase thatīs going to last, that way you wonīt spend twice.
On the first combo: the reel is good but nothing out of this world, I wouldnīt trust it on the long run. The rod is horrendous. On the second combo: the reel is trash and so is the rod. Tackle testerīs suggestion is a good one but apparently itīs above your means, Lovefishin9īs suggestion is the most affordable one, you get a good reel and an excellent rod, besides his suggestions here are mine: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse The reel is going to last you a lifetime and will handle most baits except very light ones, the rod is good, not top of the line but still very good. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse The reel is very good and so is the rod. |
