Default Finally Replaced Some Lost Tackle

Thats Right...
You probably heard me gripe about it last summer, how my tackle was falling apart or corroded and rusted , I had to throw out all the buzzbaits
and about 20 spinnerbaits.
Today I used a gift card I got for christmas and was able to get 7 new spinnerbaits and one buzzbait, a chrome ratLtrap, a bunch of packs of Gammys 3/0 offset size, some grubs, a kewl lookin' swimbait(4inch shad)
two packs of Trilene, and a BIG SMILE!
feels good, I got stuff that over the years has proven to me they catch fish.

zook,
probably won't replace my sticks, they are in good shape, other than the occasional eyelet that got bent down and I had to straighten up.
I'm sure if break one I'll get another replacement.
The only other thing I need to do now is get ONE spinning reel..any suggestions?

JB, I know you asked Zook but let me say I really like Okuma spinning reels. I now have 2 of them amd I really like them. I am going to get another one when i have a little extra cash. The one i want to get is the Metaloid. They are real smooth. I bought a Pflueger President and I have had some trouble with it. I used Mitchell reels for the last 30 years before I bought the above reels and the Mitchells still work. But the newer reels are so much better. I only used the Okumas this past summer and fall but I really think they will stand up to some hard work.

thanks bob!
I only throw spinning outfits about 10% of the time I'm on the water,
but the quantum I had for years sheared the gears and not worth replacing.
I have one shimano but like to carry two dif. setups for spinning when I choose to put the baitcasters down.
Now, where do I look at your brand? like BPS or they have some at other sites?

I got a $50 gift card to Dick's. I'm going to buy my first quality reel now that I am fairly comfortable using a baitcast reel. As of right now, I have my eye set on a Quantum Accurist PT for $119. I'm going to hold off for a while to see if I get any more gift cards (b-day is Feb.) or if the price comes down.

JB, I recently upgraded to a couple of Shimano Symeteres, and we are talking one sweet reel. Like you I use spinning about 10% of the time, but I want good gear so it was worth the investment-they run about $80.

Have to go cheap on ya- Ugly Stick 7' w/ a Shakespeare reel 30.00 reel. Bought it at wally world and is has been one of the best producing combos I got. I also have a 7' bionic blade with Shiman Sahara on it. Very nice all around rod/reel combo.

sweet reel. I bought myself one for christmas and have used it a few times since the day after thanksgiving, and so far its awesome. It wasn't the Daiwa Advantage(only 20 dollars more for what I consider a LOT more reel) that I wanted, but I think its top of the line right there with the advantage. Now that I own it, I'm happy with my choice and maybe later when I feel like buying more, I'll spend the extra 20 dollars but I look at as I've saved myself 20 right now.

Like Zook said though, the price will probably stay at 119 for some time, so go ahead and get to reelin with it.
