Gas money ? maybe around 150 for a whole day or around 800 if you want to go to the otherside or about 300 if you want to drift for swordfish!

OK guys- latest info
We are going to stay in either of these two places:
http://www.greatrentals.com/USA/Flor....htm#unitRates
This is by a Lake Marion. You have to take a 10 minute walk on a trail to get there, so my parents are unsure if they want me waking at like 4 in the morning to go fish alone. The lady said there was some good fish in there, Bass, Crappie, Catfish. Its a nice-sized natural lake.
or, www.lakejuliana.tripod.com
This place is actually for f ishing and boating, and although it is not as nice as the condo, it has fishing, right there! And I could rent a boat. My parents seem fine with it, since we really won't be in our lodging besides sleeping, and breakfast.
And the dates, April 7-9

Couldn't get into the second one. I would double check on the rental as they Mostly in all case not let you rent a boat by yourself or let you drive it period. First one looks nice but like you said no boat and if your going to the parks 35 minutes (10 miles) is kind of far if your going there everyday!

This seems to work. Well, We did book there. The boats aren't motored, and I just talked to the owner. My dad would be in the boat with me anyway. You have no idea how psyched I am! take a look on the big catch page, some cool stuff. The guy said double digits are somewhat common. I'm hoping to atleast break my PB while im there. Apparently, the crappie also get to 3 pounds, and the catfish are good. Clear water, which is good. There is a tackleshop 3 miles away. Disney is 20 minutes away. I'm expecting a fun trip. Our cottage is right on one of the lakes. I'll have to buy me a crappie combo, bring my medium for the cranks and spinners, and buying an Extreme MH for the normal. Thinking about getting heavy, maybe 14 pound test line. The vegetation is apparently thick

PS- if anyone is near lundyville, Could we possibly fish together?

Default Lundy's Fish Camp

I used to fish there when I was a kid (35 years ago!) Caught the biggest bluegill of my life in the boat basin (2.5 lbs). Also ran across a dead alligator gar (from a boat prop) over 8 feet long. My friend and I towed it back to camp, where they took a pic of it and then they made us tow it out and sink it with a cinder block.
There used to be good fishing on the east side where they had dumped a bunch of dead orange trees. Also the boat docks around the lake produced. If the long pier is still there, try for some crappie at night with minnows, that was a blast!
Finally, one of the permanent residents showed me how to slowly work a worm by the dock pilings while slowly walking up and down the pier. He always caught more bass than we did out in the boat.
Good luck, and have fun!

Hmm, sounds good to me. bateman, thanks for the tips. The place seems like It'll be some good fishing. I was thinking about buying braid or 14 lb redcast. I will probably be buying and bringing a baitcast combo, a light spinning combo, and my beloved Medium St.croix combo.

If you are flying down then you might consider one of these Bazuka Case. I used one when I took some rods and fished with RodmanRob last fall. The TSA people still managed to bend a couple of the guides. Also I had one reel with 50 lb. Power Pro and probably could have used heavier line back in the thick stuff. A lot of blow ups on frogs where we went, so keep those in mind too.
Edit: There is also a HUGE BPS store in Orlando just in case you forget anything.

35 bucks... a tad high, hmm? What if I stuck it in some tube? like a thick pipe or something, with bubblewrap inside, or just the tube that the rod came in.
I will definetely be needing a lng list of things to bring. Also, any tips on crappie fishing would be VERY appreciated. List of things to bring so far
Spinnerbaits
Bearpaws hippie sticks (stickbaits... had em done in my fave color)
Bearpaws other random baits i got in a sample pack
Powerworms possibly?
braid line, definetely. Poerwpro, or Suffix? what test?
A MH baitcast combo. Extreme combo most likely
UL combo... Im debating if i should go with light or UL for crappie
Hooks. All shapes n sizes. Hooks
Possibly some jerkbaits.

Cranky,

I live right outside orlando, on a private lake that holds a ton of great fish.

If you would like to set something up you are more than welcome to come here for some fishing. In the last 2 weeks i have caught a 7,8,9,10, and 11lb Bass. Th fishing here has been fast and furious.

I am about 30 mins from downtown Orlando.

Feel free to drop me a pm. My boat is in the water 24/7, and I have a pretty good line on the fish!!

Recieved your pm and am looking forward to meeting/fishing with you. Mostly a soft plastics lake, not a large lake, but some good quality fish here. Its all only 2 minutes from the house, and the wife is never opposed to dock service for food or beverages! (that 4 wheeler was the best thing I ever bought for her lol!)

I would highly reccomend a guide for any of the bigger lakes if your schedule allows, Several of the guys from the forums here are quite good, and will provide you a great experience! Lake Toho is fantastic to see!!

I look forward to fishing with you

Cranky,

I didnt see all of your posts here. We also have pretty good crappie fishin here in the lake. 3lb isnt uncommon.

I have plenty of baits, in the colors and sizes we need for this lake, so dont worry about that.

Line...I use power pro almost always on this lake, it seems to work well, something in the 30+ lb range is good.

Dont worry about bringing alot of tackle here on this lake, as I am sure I have more than enough to get us through a day of fishing (or a month for that matter lol).

Just bring your rods, with good quality line. Ill take it from there.

I also have several rods here at your disposal should you want to give the Crappie a go.
