Usually the seller lists what he wants to sell, with pictures if you can manage that, and with a price and note if shipping is included or extra and method of payment accepted. Interested buyer(s) contact seller to make the deal (you may get offers as many guys want to buy as cheaply as possible). A deal is agreed upon by both parties. In my case when selling, the buyer sends payment the merchandise is shipped upon receipt of payment. PAYPAL is an excellent way to conduct the exchange of money - both parties are protected, although they charge for their service. If I know a buyer or have done previous transactions I may accept other forms of payment, like a check, but if not I require PAYPAL.

I would strongly advise against sending merchandise prior to getting paid, you as a seller have no protection should you do that, and there are so many scammers out there to trust someone you do not know.

One note to you as a seller, you have some posting history and that helps. Most guys on here will NOT buy from and individual that joins here only for the purpose of selling stuff. History helps establish your credibility. Good luck, hope you have some good items to sell.

I will also stress that you use Paypal for your transactions. You can build the 3% fee into the cost of the item you're trying to sell. It's the only service available that allows you to get paid immediately, (no worry about bad checks) and offers the buyer some protection against getting ripped off.

I agree. And if you do take check or money order, always make sure everything clears before you even think about shipping the item(s).

No. 1 thing as stated above. Make sure you have the funds before you send the goods. I was naive and sent an upstanding member of this forum a rod before he sent payment. Turns out he was not so upstanding as I never was paid. Needless to say he no longer posts. I also noticed he asked to be sent some lures from another member. Don't know how that turned out. I also have traded with another member here and it was a great deal. I've bought rods and reels off e-bay with never any issues.
Just recently read of someone from another site that burned a lot of guys. Make sure if you buy they have good feedback. Although I was out of only 40$ plus shipping the other guy burned someone out of 5 reels.

One more thing....don't accept payment from someone through PayPal as a gift. You have no protection from PayPal if you do, because the "gift" means you're only giving money to somebody, with no expectation of goods exchanging hands. So only accept money if it's done as an actual purchase.
