Great job! You rig a fluke by sticking the hook in the nose, pulling out the bottom, twisting, and hiding the point in the back between the flaps. Someone might have pics...

Thats not how I rig them. I do it the opposite way, bring the hook through the nose, coming up through the flaps and then texposing the hook on the back of the fluke. I think I get a better hookup that way.

i love flukes, can almost always catch a fish with one. prefer weightless, I rig mine so the flaps are downward and the hook texposed through the solid back.

Way to go Sebastian! They are great baits. Here is how I rig them-along with just about every other soft plastic :
Not a fluke but the principal is the same. And I always fish them weightless-the slow sink rate looks like a dying shad.

I like using them weightless or on a dropshot rig.

one or two spins per jerk isn't necessarily a bad thing, you want it to appear somewhat erratic as a dying baitfish. what kinda hook are you using? I like a 3/0, 4/0, or 5/0 depending on water clarity and my fall rates.

how much time are you allowing between jerks? Maybe try not to jerk it so hard and I usually wait 5-10 seconds between jerks, sometimes more, sometimes less if I want it worked shallow.

If you are familiar with walking the dog, the fluke basically has the same action underwater. I vary the jerks from about 3 each second (really fast) to 1 every 6 seconds - and everything in between. Sometimes fish really like them fished super fast, I've especially had luck doing that around dams where if the fish thinks twice about striking prey it will get away.

I have been putting a nail weight in the super flukes to keep it down a few feet. It has increased my catch rate on the soft jerkbait. Give it a try.

thx to all of u!
@ rebbasser that's the way i rigged them!! i tried everything between very fast to very slow!! and it worked all !!! they really appear like a dying baitfish and would really recommend not to use them with weight because then they'll loose a lot of their performance for my opinion the best way to catch bass!! |

You can get a weighted hook for flukes if you need them to sink a tad faster...results sometimes come from just one simple twitch and letting it sink from anywhere one second to 30 seconds...many times they wont hit it till you quit jerking, they hit on the pause on flukes and many jerkbaits

also if you pinch the split tail off, it has a killer action......very similar to a senko.
