Default Who stops by occasionally?

Just a thread to check the status of who occasionally stops in here for a look-see. Go ahead and add your "I check in occasionally" post to this thread. I check in about once a week...

I check in here daily. There are only three sites that I regularly check on, and this is one. I know a bunch of people went to another site and I was wondering if this one would die. Glad to know some people have stayed on.

I peek occasionally. The migration didn't work out at all, this place is lively in comparison. Very disappointing but many have moved on to other things, the interest just ins't there - or here as the case may be. Personally my interest, or focus, has changed. I sold my Triton and 4WD truck and am now totally absorbed in kayak fishing. I enjoy it and it does not impact my retirement income nearly as bad as owning a bass boat and a large tow vehicle. Not many of the guys that were regulars here when I was active remain and I miss the interaction but that's the way it goes. If any of you are reading this, know that I am doing well and hope you are too.

I check both sites about once a week. I don't post much but enjoy the discussions. It is sad what has happened...instead of one 'fair' site, we now have two that are on life support.

Bruce it's great to hear things are going good.

Bass Chat was a VERY big mistake!!!
The sites worthless and it ruined what was left of this site.
Very poor moderation at Bass Chat!
I think Kevin checks in here about as much as Anthony checks in at chat.

But chat has Tav..........and that pretty much explains it's success!

Bob, Kieth, Ken, Fred, MO, Oko it's great to see your names and I hope things are well with you folks as well!
Thorn, gysgthard, Mikechell THANKS for hanging in there and keeping this site somewhat active.
Oh and I can't forget Chevy, after such a great welcome, you stayed with the site and still post.

Say hi to the Resort's CEO and how's the puppy?

I knew you were watching....note the smile.

You frequently stop by between 12-12:30 am.

Heard you were very friendly at UB too.
Heck from the stats, you may visit here more than chat?

I check this site about every other day or so, maybe more frequently I don't really keep tabs. I have been a member here for a long time, and the failure of this site bothers me more than you know. What was once a very productive site with multiple discussions ongoing about fishing and other topics has ended up like this. Vegas Spider did a number on this place as he promised, but the site actually started to fail a little before then.
Anthony did not stay active on the other board and neither Joe(Jrob78) or myself have any rights other than cleaning up posts and moving a few things around. Just as this site failed in part from lack of owner involvement, the other has suffered a similar fate. That and it is very difficult to solicit new members, especially hard to get them to try a place like YUKU. I will say that that site has a lot of potential, just needs more time than Anthony can give it at the moment. The feature that I think makes it a great place is the Chat environment, it use to be a lot of fun when we had good participation.

Snide remarks or jokes? Largest problem of the printed word on forums like this, is the inability to see the originator and understand the intent of the words.

Tav I have known Bo for years and to question his character it's obvious you never have.
You shared more than he did about what you two discussed.
He read your yuku attack and asked me what was up.
AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE IGNORE OPTION ON THE SITE!

This jig was designed by Bo James.
The most common jig challenges are poor hook set (allowing spit outs) and getting them snagged on structure.

Again,
This jig was designed by Bo James.
The most common jig challenges are poor hook set (allowing spit outs) and getting them snagged on structure.

Lets start with snagging cover.
Couple quick Bo videos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1Pm_aJFasI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwjTz_RKkns

Be sure to watch the third link below for more weedless action at the end of video.

Now shorebusting and snagging overhead branches go hand and hand.
I have tossed into many a tree and got my jig back.
Importantant part is to work slow and let the cam heads do thier thing and put the hook outwards and then role it over the branches.
In Wi. we have natural lakes and the shorebanks are loaded with laydowns.
I confidently will drag this lure through anything.

The only time I get snagged is when I hook someone elses line who got a snagg and lost thier jig.
I swear some of these anglers fish with clothsline,
I've won many a bet on tossing the jig into cribs and trees and getting it back!

Now hook set.
Take any jig in your box and slide it through your fingers.....it will slide over to it's side along with the hook.
The bass are turning your jig to it's side when it bites down and hits the weed guard too.
Take your jig with hook straight up and press down on the weed guard....see it flips to it's side.

Your not losing fish because of poor hook set.
Rather because the hooks sliding out side ways at the widest part of the mouth.
Then when you do get a set it is into the thinnest portion of a cheek and thus the higher liklihood of spit out.
ALL center based weedguards will do this.
Most experienced jiggers will fan out the guard in an attempt to negate this natural tendency but the guard is now thinned and the bristles on the edges no longer have thier rigidity and again allow the hook to turn to it's side.

Now I IN NO WAY AM SAYING YOU CAN'T CATCH OR HOOK BASS on a standard jig!!!
BUT you maybe missing some?
Many times that branch you thought you were rolling over...just may have been a bass and when you tugged it just slid out of it's mouth?

Well that's where the dual (noncentered) appendages come in.
This jig is designed so that when the fish bites down the dual appendages force the hook upright and centered and the fish gets HOOKED in the TOP OF THE MOUTH in the hardest portion of the roof of it's mouth.
The hook is now imbedded and the appendages continue to put pressure against the roof of the mouth and pushing the hook upwards....and no spitout.

The hookeye is angled upwards also so when you hookset the jig the hook naturally comes up towards the roof of the mouth.

The hooks are Owner hooks and very durable and sharp!
I rarely have ever felt the need to even put a new edge on them.

I swim these jigs.
I crawl these jigs.
I use these jigs for standup presentations. You drop the jig out of your hand and nine out of ten times it will land straight up with the hook perfectly positioned to hook the roof of the mouth. slight pull on line will standup the tenth.
I fish them in grass, vegitation, through rock, trees, sand, gravel, everything and everywhere.

It's great not having to switch jigs everytime I want to change presentation or cover (BOW).
This jig has actually increased my jig usage and definitly my catch rate and size!!!

SO........in ending this review

You will loose less jigs and catch alot more fish with this jig!

NuTech has many a YouTube video you can watch and anyone who wants to talk to Bo, send me a PM and I'll set you up.
Any questions please ask me because I have been using these for years and most know....I fish ALOT.

For those who haven't heard of NuTech, here's a short intro to thier system and some ways that shows a small portion of how to use them or them in use.
Oh and Bo is a member here too,

Just to be clear ... this thread was started as a place for people who come here to say they do ... how many times they do, etc.

Lets not let it devolve into an argument ... which is probably why people left the site to begin with.

Petulant behavior doesn't help.

Also, although I like the video of the bare jig being pulled through the chain link fence, this also isn't the thread for advertisements.

But then ... what do I know. You guys seemed to have carried this grudge match on for a long time.

Mikechell,
point well taken and if you want my post removed just send me a PM and it's done.
Just to be clear though, it was a tackle review post not an ad.
It was meant to explain or reply to another members post.

I have nothing to do with NuTech and have NO objective other than to share.

It was a post under Techniques, Strategies & Presentations though.

The site went down for completely other challenges, nothing to do with me, Tav or any regulars.

Oko my sincere apologies.

No problem ... just an observer in this one. I truly liked this site, but I got here just as the move to Yoko Ono's site ... or whatever it was ... was getting into the works. I did not "join" the other site, so I've never been to it.
I hated that this one dwindled to a few post every other day.

As they say, us kids hate it when the grown ups argue.

I get a feeling things may start to get back to where it once was here. And I couldn't be happier about that. Let's keep the movement going here.

Only once in a blue moon. This year at my firm has been nothing short of soul-crushing madness, so haven't had a lot of time for fishing or even talking about fishing.
