Bubby Rigging a Grub
Use a wide gap hook on a grub and once rigged, crimp a splitshot underneath on the hookshaft about halfway the distance from the eye of the hook to the point.
Â* When swimming, it's fairly normal, but when on the bottom and being dragged along the nose will bounce down and touch the bottom occasionally, looking like a feeding minnow. Â*It will also produce a little noise and kick up a little silt along the way. Â* If you learn to twitch gently without moving it much, you can get it to appear feeding in a bass's nesting area. |

Re: Bubby Rigging a Grub
Went fishing yesterday evening.....rigged a bubby grub and fished brush and logs. Hung up only twice.
Just wanted to add, when you put the sinker on the underside hookshaft, it works better to saddle the sinker on the shaft from above letting the open ends of the sinker hang below the hook before crimping. This way the pliars work better. Also good to pretty much flatten the sinker on the rig......less hangups. I also noticed, the grub falls with a nice flat fall rather than a super fast nose down fall.....slows it up and therefore is more noticeable to the fish. Caught and released 5 bass, pretty good for around here.....pleasant evening of fishing. Good fishing, Mac |
