Default What's the difference between a Crankbait and a Jerkbait?

This may be a dumb question but I have to know. Is there a difference? If so, what is it.

I bought a tackle box full of hard baits at a flea market. How do I tell which is which? I've already separated them between floaters and sinkers. Now what?

And input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

PS..... If there is a difference, which type of rod should I use for each. I already have a St. Croix 7' MH crankin' rod.
