Default Are spinnerbaits dying out?

You never hear much about spinnerbaits any more. So many other tecniques have come along that could be used instead of a spinnerbait. Do any of you guys and gals use them often yet?

I never go out without a spinnerbait tied on. I make my own and use them all the time.

He!! no, just like Reb I have one always tied on. If you don't use them, you will miss a lot of fish.

spinnerbaits are great lures.there are days when they won't hit anything else and there are days when they won't hit them.it is probably the most versatile lure made.

I ALWAYS have a spinnerbait tied on.It's proven itself again and again.Tackle companies want you try all this new stuff but the oldies always seem to shine through.I can't remember the last time I went fishing and didn't throw a spinnerbait.

I throw the blade every time I got out, always keep some style of spinnerbait tied on, depending on conditions...never leave home without it

when i fished at a reservoir bout an hour a way from my house, the bass were schooling on the surface, just beyond casting distance (fishing from shore), and there were tons of bluegills, so i threw a 1/2 ounce spinnerbait, and the bluegill were still hitting it, so i went to 3/4 oz. one, and i wasn't hooking them on this but they were still trying... so i switched to a popper, that got them off! Also caught tons of bass ranging from 12 to 18 inches!!! Any way... back to the topic...
my favortie bait is the spinnerbait, and i always throw one! I love em! I start throwing them around late march to early april, until then they will not work for shore fisherman around northern ohio! I am limited to heavy weighted carolina rigs and jigs! Good Luck To Yall This Year!!!

I won a tournament with just under 12 pounds on feb. 11 using a spinnerbait. The water wasn't even 45 degrees. Throw a chartruese and white one w/ a gold willow leaf blade on and then hold on!!

the spinnerbait will NEVER die..never, never, never. Its too effective in any number of conditions and only a fool would go without at least thinking of fishing it(based on conditions and patterns, of course). I've never known of anything else that can replace all that a spinnerbait does. What other bait gives you the same kind of flash, vibration, appearance, versatility of a blade? Worms won't do it, hard baits can't go everywhere a spinnerbait can and don't produce the same kind of vibration and flash. Jigs have no flash and can't be fished in all the ways a spinnerbait can. Don't go without spinnerbaits, they will ALWAYS catch a fish somewhere.

I don't think they are dying out, i think that there are just alot of different types of lures out there. I use a spinnerbait at least 70% of the time.

I believe it was Neil Young, who once said "Rock and Roll will never die", I'm sure he meant spinner baits too......
