Fish a rebel popper in the schools. Then tie a buctail jig to about 8 inches of mono and hang it off the rear treble. If you want, you can put more than one dropper. Cast into the school, and pop it. I've never tried this on white bass, but I read in a magazine that it's effective, and it works when the largemouth school.

If you have them schooling chasing shad on the surface try a silver spoon. Cast it out and crank it back through the school as fast as you can. You can catch one on every cast when that happens. Good fighters, too!

any kind of spinnerbait works for me, but if you find a nest of these fish you can use anything to catch them

Agree with Zach; they'll hit anything.

If you're going to clean them, make sure you put them on ice and fillet them as soon as possible, they have one tough hide on them , and they are hard to clean if they've been out of the water for a long time

We normally have guys going every Saturday averaging 30 white bass in 2 hours. They catch them on rooster tails.

P.S.They catch alot of small ones, but still not bad.
