Default Skunked, again.

Well I had some time to do a little fishing today so I decided to try my luck on the lake I fished last week [with all the lilly pads]. This time I brought my rig spooled with 50lb PP along with a rig spooled with my trusty 20lb PP. I had the 50lb rigged with the T-rigged tiki stik, and the 20lb rigged with a small chartruese spinnerbait. Lots of topwater hits, but ofcourse I forgot to pack any topwater baits Anyways I was getting a whole lot of nothing and found out the topwater hits were carp? I saw one roll about 4 feet from me, pretty big about 8lbs or so. But all the topwater hits couldnt have been carp because last I checked carp didnt eat fish and I could see little baitfish getting hit out of the water. I threw a spinnerbait followed up by a worm everytime to those spots but no avail. My 20lb PP rig could easily reach the main pad feilds which I worked extensively, I even re-rigged with a worm yet nothing. I'm convinced the trick is a boat. Anyways I decide to go to another pond nearby, I've heard the fishing wasnt the best there yet since it was just made 2 years ago... Turns out that was an accurate statement. I caught nothing, and only saw some turtles. So I guess I'm gunna keep getting skunked until I get enough money to buy a boat.

I hope so. Today was a tad bit windy, and cloudy off and on, more sunny than anything. It had to be atleast 100 degrees, I was dripping with sweat the first 10 minutes out there. Had to take off my shirt, and when I went to put it back on it was covered in fire ants!!! Ouch ahah.

Carp are omniverous. They have been known to eat most anything including dead fish.
