Last Backwater report of 07
As promissed most fish would come on a Charlie worm as fish where keyed in on schools of small shad running the grass line out of the swamp. The tail off the worm looks just the tail of a shad and picked up several fiesty LGmouth last night. Catfish, striper and crappie are posed for the big eat up before running deep.
SO time for Monster cats again. A tear ran down my left cheek as we departed the backwaters for the last time this year. Darn alergies.. Capt Mike

Now that you're done pounding them every day the rest of us will give 'em a short break then move in and snatch up all the big ones
I'll be out on the river a couple times this fall but I'm going to spend some days fishing Anna as well. Picked up a nice fish on a vintage Spook last weekend in shallow water. No pics to post though. |
