Canyon Lake: Water murky upper-clear lower; 63 degrees; 921.40':
*12' Above Pool & Rising - Boater Caution Strongly Suggested* Largemouth are good bank shallow and down to 6' deep in creeks and bays below the mudline along rocky transition points using greenbug Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com), black-blue flake Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) rigged on "K" Wacky Hooks (www.falconlures.com), green-pumpkin Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com) and 3" smoke curl tail grubs. River is too high and fast for bass fishing. Smallmouth are good to 4 lbs. early in 3'-8' using 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps, 7/16 oz. chart. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits and later along dropoffs and bluff ledges using 3/16 oz. pumpkin/blk/brn finesse jigs with matching Uncle Josh pork trailers (www.unclejosh.com) and smoke-red Snap back tubes rigged on 1/8 or 1/4 oz. jigheads. Stripers are improving under birds working 1/4 oz. Hyper Striper jigs w/trailers (www.kgenterprise.com), Spin Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on a 5/0 Bait Jerker Hook (www.falconlures.com) and Pirk Minnows.
