Default Live Trap advice

We've been havin trouble with coons tearin up our garbage, although not so much lately, since we've been trapping them.

The trap is borrowed from the animal rescue group she volunteers for.
We got our 6th coon today (she's dumping them near her exes place lol) and the trap is not only borrowed, but getting beat up. I have to repair it again tonight before i load it with bait.

Anybody have any recommendations on a quality live trap that you've had success with?

32X12X10 is the size we're looking at

I'd appreciate some rabbit trap advice myself. I've got them digging holes under my slab and it's starting to piss me off.

Bryce, I will say the live traps work very well. The coons seem to beat the hell out of them though!

I've looked online at Menard's, Gander, Tractor Supply and Walmart.
As luck would have it, the only ones who don't have terrible reviews....are the ones with ZERO reviews!

No need to trapem, pour some female mtn lion urine around the vicinity,be gone shortly.
Trick is to get the urine. Will also work with coyote urine but then again will attract the yotes.

I wish I could tell you the name brand of the trap I borrowed from a local rental place but it's been too many years back. I do own a Haveaheart brand trap I use for smaller mammals and it's always worked very well with no troubles at all. Have used it for about 25 years now without any problems. Looking on line at the Haveaheart traps, I think the model 1081, which is what they recommend for coons might be the one I used.

I did see the Haveaheart model. I think it was one of the ones with no reviews.
Now I have one! ; )

My dad used the haveaheart traps and they lasted for a good while. That was many years ago so the quality may have changed.

Yup knew their was some out there, sprinkle it around scare the crap outa everything else and it wont attract to many mtn lions.
Haveaheart traps are or were built steady, problem is they travel back unless transported some distance off.5-10 miles is nothing for a coon.
20 miles is nothing for a yote as its about their normal range, but let them know their is another tuffer critter where you are located they avoid, thus the mtn lion urine it does work.On the plus side if their is one within say 15-20 miles it will come calling.

That'll do it.

You may can find out from an animal control officer where they get their traps, if you still want to go that route.

Heck if you live in town, get them to do it. That a way if you catch a skunk or something else like the neighbors cat, it's on them. If you out in the county, disregard the previous comment.

Haha thanks guys!!!!!
Sounds like the haveaheart is a good trap.

We're dumping the coons about 7-8 miles away. Near a campground. I don't expect them back ; )

That's about exactly how far I was releasing mine, along a ditch in the country. Never did see them again.

I borrowed a couple Have-a-heart traps from my mother-in-law who only let me use them if I promised to release the pesky groundhogs alive. My wife also insisted I had to trap the dang things then release them out in the woods somewhere. What a PITA that is, trap the darn things and cart them 15 miles out to the State game lands and release them alive. Well I did keep my promise, went all the way to the game lands, to a nice wooded area back a bit from the road and released the little bastards... then I shot 'em.

We had 2 as pets when Iwas in high school.
Really cool lil dudes, when they're tame, but their feces carry a disease that is fatal to humans
