Default An American tradition! Please vote!!!!!

For all you older farts, like myself, the Drive In has been an American Icon for over 50 years.

Due to the digital age, 35 mm film is going bye bye.
Very costly for Drive In owners to upgrade out of pocket.

Honda is going to donate the new digital projectors to 5 Drive Ins. Which Drive Ins the projectors are donated to, depends on the votes each Drive Ins get.

I live in the smallest county in Michigan. We have 3 things to hang our hat on, anymore.
Platte River
Betsie River
Cherry Bowl Drive In

I would be absolutely crushed, if ours was forced to shut down.

If you have one near you, BY ALL MEANS, vote for yours!!!
If not, PLEASE vote for mine!
You can vote online AND by text once each, per day, through September 9th.

The people running ours are 100% family oriented. They show nothing stronger than PG 13. They put in a mini golf course and upgraded the play ground area, so that it's a wholesome family experience (lil different from when I was i school lol )

If they don't get enough votes, I'm planning on hosting an on site BBQ Benefit.
ALL profits to help the Drive In.
If you're unable to vote...come to the benefit!!!!!

If you'd like to vote, here's the link http://www.cherrybowldrivein.com/

Middle right side, you'll see the Project Drive In banner.
Clicking the link will allow you to vote for The Cherry Bowl, as well as see a youtube video about the Drive In itself.

If any of you vote for the CB...and make it up this way....admission and popcorn is on me!

Thank you in advance!

I guess I voted. I typed in The 49er Drive In which is our local drive in but don't see any place to vote for it. Only a black box that says GO. So I clicked on that but nothing happened except the map changed.

Been meaning to vote. Voted for my local one. The Big Mo. They actually have two separate screens.

The best viewing was when my dad used to have his truck with the liftgate. Put that about halfway down and had stadium seating. Some on the ground, some on the tailgate, and some in the bed.

Keith, I think only a certain amount of them were picked for the donation. 50, I think.

Aiken, we had a double screen in Traverse City back in the day, but that colsed up years ago

Can't remember the last time I watched a movie at a Drive-In... can remember the last time I went to on though!

Glad they'll be able to stay open. All of ours closed down years ago. It's a shame too. My generation was the last to know what it's like around here.
