Default at look at the

sole of the matter. yeah that is right sole. i recently seen a report in a medical rag that said that standing/walking for one hour puts just under 1 million pounds of pressure on your feet. that being the case i would go with a quality sneaker while fishing. i wear either nike air's or rebook crosstrainers basicly the comfort level.hey let's face it if your dogs are uncomfortable then you are not at the top of your game. also i found that a good sock is worth it's weight in gold.but as with fishing no one lure works on every struture the same is true of socks. wool socks will keep your feet warm when the temps are at there lowest.if you are cursed with swamp foot go with a synthetic sock. what you want to do is turn the sock inside out and look for the loops on the inside big loops flatten and lose that cushy feel quickly. go with a dense tight looped sock.they also tend to last longer. i made the mistake of buying some socks with big loops-doh!-i had a stove pipe-hole on each end-after just one wash.

i know this sound real weird coming from me
but most of you are young and will get over it.

Zooker, I like to fish in sock feet or barefooted, but I got a discarded hook stuck in my foot last year.Maybe I throw them out too soon because it seemed quite sharp as it punched through my foot with ease. ;D P N J

I usually wear sandals when i fish. Well, when we are out doing something and far away from home, i have found my self fishing in high heel boots or high heel shoes. Sometimes, it just cannot be helped My mother in law has gotten on to me before for forgetting reg. shoes when we go out there and ruining a good pair of dress shoes. I don't think i own many pairs of shoes that i haven't found my self fishing in. I do own a pair of tennis shoes that i have had for over 6 years and I think i wear it about 10 x a year, if that. 99.9 % of my dress shoes are comfortable shoes, i don't buy cheap shoes because cheap heels do hurt my feet, alot of expensive ones don't and i can wear them comfortably all day long.

Zook your 100% right. One of my closest friends is a podiatrist(foot doctor) he yells everytime I fish barefoot or in sandles with no arch support. If the dogs go because they arent cushioned you will have problems. The feet can mess you up- leg pain, back pain, foot pain. I dont wear tennis shoes, I wear the Mocks. They are a cross between a boat shoe and sport sandal. They have good wet traction but also have good arch support. Socks are also important, I will admit I dont wear them as much as I should(unless Im fishing w/ the doc). Take care of the feet now or they can hurt you later. 8)

So was I. My buddy hooked me up with custom inserts for my workboots and everyday shoes. They are about 5 bills, insurance may or may not cover them. I will honestly say that 90% of my leg, back, foot pain has gone away. I agree sitting down in not an option and the pro seat still puts a strain on legs and backs. 8)

What I need to figure out is how to prevent my toes from hurting so bad after wading (in my boot footed waders) for 14 plus hours. I remember after one outing in particular I thought that I might have actually broken a toe by kicking a boulder, thats how it felt.

If you have sore muscles or aches and pains in ur legs take some potassuim or eat a banana daily. After a couple of days, you will be able to tell a difference.

They are made by LANGER. My doc casts the bottom of my foot and then sends it to the company. These are definately made to order insoles. My left one is actually higher in the arch and stiffer due to my arch collapsing.
BFG- the banana is great for muscles, bad luck on boats. I take glucosamine chondroitin daily, was initially developed for arthritis but had other properties that were great for joints even in nonarthritic people. I can tell when I forget to take it. 8)
