Thumbs down Iron Silk - Yuk!!!!

I have 8 spools of Iron Silk from last year and every one of them is crap!
You put it on the reel and it's fine for the first week. After a while the line degrades to a 1/2 lb. test strength when you draw done the knot and pops. Berkley would not exchange the line for better line without a receipt and who the h*** keeps a receipt for line that's six months old?

I'm rethinking my loyalty to Berkley and will stay with Power Pro and switch to Trilene and another company for f/c.

Sam-contact Berkley and they will tae care of you-at least they did me when I discovered what crappy like Iron Silk is. I sent it back to Berkley and they replaced all of it with Trilene.

Senko, I went through the same crap only less fo it.I bought a spool because it was supposed to be improved, the box stated so. but when I tested it, it broke with ease. I mean 14 lb test didn't even leave a red mark on the hand when I pulled it in two.Sufix, P- Line, Ande will cut the hide before it breaks. P N J

I don't think I have ever heard of a product in fishing that gets so many consistently bad reviews as Iron Silk. That includes a lot of crap too.

Laser, I like it , except for 2 things about it. One is sometimes the tungstun weight will leave line nicks on a hookset, leaving you to retie .I never have had it break off on a fish though. It handles real well, casts very good. The other thing is I can't buy a 1/2 lb or 1 lb spool of it, your stuck buying 330 yard filler spools.I most likely am going old school again on line. Ande Back Country saltwater flats line to be exact. It worked very well for me, just that I have to order online to get it.Its a great line at a really great price.P N J

Sam awful good to see ya around I sure do miss your greatly informative, and well written posts. Where have you been hanging out other than the water Sorry to hear about your crap line, hope you can figure it out with Berkley, but Powerpro is awful hard to beat IMHO.

Sure seems like we've been talking about line an awful lot lately I keep posting the same thing too POWERPRO
