Default Here is the biggest crappie that I've ever caught.

I know that this is a bass fishing site but I just had to show it off. It was 19 1/4" long and weighed 3.6 lbs!

I felt so bad that day because of being sick, my face was wind burnt and my head hurt but this fish made a bad day a whole lot better. My brother and I caught 32 crappie that day with 8 going over 16" long.

What bait were you using to catch them?

Was this catch recent?

how many feet deep?

WTL....Do you know where the Happy Hollow area is? I was kind of close to that area.

I learned to swim at Goose Shoals! There used to be some BIG smallies back up in there. I live in Florence so these places are my stomping grounds.

Lonestarbasser....We caught these in early November, trolling horsehead jigs in 10-12 of water.

Nice Crappie, and GREAT EATING TOO . I've caught my three Largest Crappie ever in the last 2 years at the coal pit, on 1/2oz spinnerbaits , and a 6" Pulse worm, while fishing for Bass. The biggest being 14" which was huge in my book. But that is by far a lot bigger than what I've caught. I do love crappie fish fry's though, it's a great tasting fish.

Ranger, I really think I might have heard of happy hollow before. My fishing experience with shoal creek is limited to basically wading goose shoals and iron city tennessee, normally when I fish Wilson lake I put the boat in below wheeler dam and stick to big nance, bluewater and town creeks (and of course the tailwaters). I do like to fish pickwick though, from the dam all the way up to waterloo.

Its good to have someone from Florence on here, now maybe I have somebody to back up what i've known for years: The tennessee river has better fishing west of Huntsville than east of it.

I think it would be hard pressed to find a body of water that you can catch an 9 lb smallmouth, 8 lb largemouth, 3 lb crappie, 80 lb catfish, monster stripe, and all the other species that's too numerous to mention, on any given day like the waters between Wheeler and Pickwick dams.

I'm very fortunate to live in such an area.
