Default Baitcaster question

Hi guys

I would like to import a reel (export from where your sitting ;D ) I am thinking about one of the following

http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse

or

http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...mCat=CROSSSELL

Could someone please give me some comment on the reels? Which is the best or should I go for something else. I have not seen either of those over here, and the equivalent reels will be about $200 in SA

Thanks a lot!

Based on what I read, if you are wanted to use some lighter baits, I would go with the first one, easier to keep from backlashing, if you are throwing some heavier baits, go with the second one, since it's has a little less drag on casting with the 8 ballbearing system. But more chance of backlashing. I would also get the 6:2:1 gearing, since I can always slow down the speed of retrieve, but you can never increase it, but then again if I was using it for Plastics, I might get the lower gear ratio, just to keep from retieving to fast, now after that has been said, I'm still lousy with a baitcaster, but I'm getting better each time out So my opinion on em probably isn't worth the time to read this post

I got the Quantum, And about 3 others. One has lasted 11 years.

This would be a good choice, But just my opinion. ;D

The Quantum reels may be good, but I use the PT Series. Appx.160.00 $. Same looking reels but better quality.

Zook,

There the (cheap) or rather less expensive reels that you can buy at Wal-Mart.
Go ahead and get the 160.00 reel.

How about a Curado? Great reel at a decent price. I stay away from those BPS reels, never had any luck with them.

Earthworm, I had very good luck with Bass Pro shop reels, and hate shimano reels .The only good luck I have had with Shimano's is that they are easy to sell. P N J

I hate Shimano too! lol They are too foreign for me... I have a Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier, and it works like a charm.
