Default Ranger VS series vs Comanche series

Looking at boats and have been looking at a lot of different boats and was wondering what differences I'll find in a 195vs compared to a 519vx or 519vs? I feel like I found a pretty good deal on a 519vx and I'm about to pull the trigger. More so what is the difference between the 519 boats?

The VX series is considered the "tournament series". I think the VS has less features or standard options then the VX. I don't think there is a hull difference.

Your best bet is to contact your local Ranger dealer and ask them, with model number they can give your more exact information.

thanks I'm confused now cause the bill of sale says 519vs but the actual boat says 519vx... is the 519 hull right at 19' or is it 19'6"?

It should be 19'. If I'm not mistaken since the hulls are the same then it may be a 519vs hull but a vx interior package/options.

Nobody will really know but Ranger with 100% accuracy. If you look on the back of the transom or title and get the Hull # and call them they can look the boat up and tell you exactly what it is and what options were put on the boat. They do this so years later when original or new owners need parts they know exactly what went onto that boat set up.

I've dealt with them before in parts and they were great!

Talked to the people at Ranger and they were a lot of help. They emailed me all the information about both boats from their catalog for the year models.

Cool. They are very helpful. I buy all of my parts from them. Hopefully you can find out exactly what you are looking for.

I have a local dealer who is a real dumba$$. The factory is easier to deal with then most boat dealers.

Not shure of the differences..... I run a 2001 ranger 520 commanche my personal opinion is the 520 hull is the best hull on the market I was dissapointed when ranger built the tournament series cause the hull was not as good they recently went back to the 520 and im saveing to buy a new one.... (hopefully this economy isn't promiseing though)

I'd prefer the 520 for running in rough water, but can't seem to find any in my budget... This 519 is in perfect condition! He took really good care of it and had it stored in a climate controlled building.

Sounds like a good deal. Before you pull the trigger on the boat have someone check that engine out. A sour engine will drive you friggen nuts.

The mechanic is looking it over Monday or Tuesday and doing a compression test. When I started looking I was really looking for one with a merc or yamaha but this one has an
Evinrude. I hadn't heard good thing about the Ficht motors, but everything I've researched seems to point to BRP having the issues fixed in the 03 engines.

Merc, Yama, Evin, Hon, it doesn't matter. He likes chevy, he likes ford, he likes dodge, Daiwa, Abu, Pflueger, quantum, etc.....but can any of us really argue that one is far more superior in todays marketplace if we compare apples to apples? No, absolutely not! We might try or think we can but in truth we really can't.

So with that being said have the boat checked out and if it passes inspection and is what you want then go for it! Its a good boat with a good motor and after looking at ebay, boat trader online and a few other places, it really is a good deal. The NADA shows that the rig is worth around 18,000 plus so I assume maybe this fella just needs or wants to get out from under it which is great for you.

The only problem you will have is waiting for spring to get here!

No kidding maybe a roadtrip to south Texas will be necessary! My wife's uncle is trying to put together a trip to lake falcon in January so we'll see... He has some friends that have been down recently and they said they felt safe, but my wife won't be comfortable with it for sure!
