I like swim jigs. Its not my go to bait but I've only been using them since this summer. I like to pitch alot with jigs, tubes, etc but I have really enjoyed swimming them as well. My success rate hasn't skyrocketed but I think I sometimes swim them too fast and have to remind myself to slow down. They are alot of fun.

Heres a good video about them.

Fish it like you would fish a spinnerbait. Hey handlebars, @ closer look, that is KVD swimming a "jig", not fishing a "swim-jig". I can't find the vid,(There's an amateur vid on YouTube, of KVD with a swim-jig), but I have seen a program with him fishing the strike king swim-jig, and boy was he burning it!

Hmm. Maybe its time for me to learn something today..... I think the amateur vid you may be speaking of in the beginning KVD states: "In this technique its basically fishing a jig like you would a spinnerbait". So what exactly is the difference in swimming a jig with a trailer on it such as a tube, grub, craw, etc or a swim jig? After a lil research I find that they appear to be the same thing although I'm always ready to listen and learn....

I have pitching jigs which are normal shaped jig heads in round or football but when I refer to a swim jig, its really the same except it has a tapered, flatter more pointed head for coming thru the water. More streamlined I reckon you would say.

Please correct me where I'm mistaken...

In the vid you posted, from BPS's OutdoorWorld, is he really fishing a "swim-jig"? No. I thought the OP's question was how to fish a "swim-jig", not how to "swim a jig"?

Ok, just so you know I am not trying to be argumentative just to get this right in my head.

If I understand then you are stating that the video was about "swimming a jig" but not exactly about a "swim jig" in particular....Right?

It explains the technique but not the exact jig used?

Just trying to be sure that I am not confusing one thing for another

Thanks for any clarification Dog.

No prob., but correct. I don't mean to be argumentive either(To tell you the truth, I was hoping that vid was the one from the show "The Bass Pros" season 4, but evidently you can only find it at BPS, and not on line.). I'm not sure KVD uses the same technique with his new Strike King KVD swim-jigs, as he uses in swimming a jig(?).

Gotcha! Thats what I wanted to find out.

I was a lil confused. I went back and reviewed the video then went and looked thru Taverys thread.

Thanks
