Maybe they wanted a sub surface item to eat ? or maybe they are strictly feeding on the bottom ? Its very difficult to tell unless you rule out all other possibilities. P N J

Well,

I'm not really a big fan of buzz baits, i have never had much success on them. But, what seems to works best is if you punch a hole in one of the blades of the buzz baits. This way when it hits the water when reeling it will give alitte bit of a different noise, and louder too, so you don't have to reel as fast to make alot of noise. Also try reeling at different speeds, maybe you are trying to fish agressive fish that want something fast, or maybe they don't want it so fast. Give some different things a try, i'm sure you will find something that works.

In my personal opinion i would buy a spinnerbait if you like faster moving lures. They seem to work for me a whole lot better than buzz baits.

P N J makes a good point. If no type of faster moving lures work, try a plastic worm on the bottom.

Try fishing buzz baits close to when it gets dark. If you are fishing a clear water lake try using one when you find suspended bluegill in deep water.

Welcome to the boards fella. Glad you found bass fishing. When you arnt getting bites on a buzzbait try something different like PNJ stated. Alot of the times you can go to a standard spinnerbait and start getting bit again. You have to experiment abit to find out what the bass are wanting.
