From everything I've heard and read, Dale Hollow is one of the best smallmouth lakes in the Midwest, with some of the biggest smallies being caught there I was actually hoping to make it down there in 2005, since it's not a huge drive for me, but then I think about how Big it is, and think, well it's really too big for my little boat. I tried some big water in FL, and almost sank it once the wind picked up, and the waves started pounding me. Anyway do you fish it a lot? And is the smallie fishing as good as they say ???

I have fished Dale Hollow and what they say about the smallie fishing is absolutly correct. A great small mouth lake. Its probably not as wide as the lake you fished in FL so if the wind does blow you stay out of it easily.

It also has pretty good LM fishing.

I've never been to Dale Hollow per se (OK, I flew over it once on a flight from nashville to newark), but it seems to have enough hollows and creek arms that you could get out of the wind. Florida is so bad cause its flat and the wind just flies across the pennisula, whereas the cumberland plateu has enough ridges that you should be able to handle it.

Lizards,
You go to Dale Hollow and I'll let you bring me along to help weigh the boat down!
