Lizards,
You are all about the small stuff aren't you! ;D The 4 pointer never came into range or I probably would have...I wasn't going to pass on anything that day.

well that would explain why he has never caught a really big bass. the "coal pit" is full of 2-3 pounders. which would not pull any drag. him being such a dainty lil feller. he mite break some thing setting the hook in a BIG bass.

Thanks Reb,
That's a better picture than what I have on my email. Like I said,
not a huge deer but I'll take it.

Got back in the woods yesterday to see if I could bag a doe (1 buck limit in Indiana). Was in a new location and had 5 of them milling around a ridge about 60 yards away for about an hour! Fingers nearly froze off as I waited for them to come closer (20 degree temps yesterday!). But, of course they didn't come any closer. Think I'll set up on the ridge itself come Saturday.

well my kin and i were driving some cut over on public land-best term i could come up with- this puppy was thick.well seeing i am trigger happy got more than a limit-oops-but there was plenty of poeple to take the extras.
i am a tad ashamed to say my pop took a big doe-on leased land-that was getting near the next county. he range on it before the shot 583 yards. pop is 80 so he has lots of time to hunt.he has filled his tags-all 6- of them.

Did you still want to borrow my Mickey mouse boots? I'll take them in to the shop today if you need to borrow them, nothing like warm feet while sitting in a tree stand

Not if you wear socks, and tuck in your pants ;D My brother just bought a pair and the same thing happened to him. Then I look down, and he has 1 pair of socks, shorter than the boots. I just laughed ;D

Here is a plug for Lizards Mickey Boots that I borrowed from him: Went hunting yesterday afternoon, temp was 20 with a wind chill of 8 Wearing Mickey boots and SmartWool socks, my feet were nice and toasty. My buddies could not believe that I didn't get cold, their toes were numb! They were out of their stands by 5:00. I love these boots so much, I bought a pair on ebay today!

i used to wear micky mouse boots while ice fishing. i would only wear a pair of wool socks. ice fishing is rough on any equipment you use. it took 3 days for the ice to melt off my mickey mouse boots enough to free my corkers-strap on spikes-sitting behind a wood burning stove.

Went on a doe hunt last night on a 280 acre farm/woods that a friend of mine owns. This guy is a major hunter and manages these woods to harvest trophy bucks. Well I saw one of them last night! ;D Holy cow was this baby wide. He was a 9 pointer, not really long tines but very symmetrical and very wide, probably 22 inch inside spread! The owner saw this deer a couple of nights ago and was very impressed with him too. Indiana allows only 1 buck per season so all I could do is sit there and watch him eat, about 20 yards from my stand. What a beautiful site it was!
