Question? If you had 2 hours to fish
Here's a rogue question? If you had two hours to fish between sun up, and sun down on a calm summer day. What time would it be

Re: Question? Â*If you had 2 hours to fish
depending on water clarity, but going by your post, I would be out there the first 2 hours after sunup, throwing buzzbaits and shallow running cranks.

[glow=red,2,300] These Yamamoto soft plastics put the fish in the boat for me.[/glow] I'm a jig thrower myself, and in the morning I will pull up to 20 feet of shore, docks ect and work a medium retrieve. I don't normally use a pig n jig early in the morning. But other guy's might. Robby. |

The two hours before sunset, but probably not for the reason you're looking for. I'm not a morning person, and as much as I love bass, not even they will get me up and out at those ungodly hours which are reserved for the mentally unbalanced.

What!?! You'll never hear me ever complain about having to wake up early to go fishing. Anyways, I'd go with the first two hours right after sun up. I'd fish topwaters, poppers, buzzbaits, etc. And then probably some spinnerbaits along grass/weed lines. |

I am one of those guys that thinks bass are almost easier to pattern around 2 pm. Still, they might be a little more active around twighlight.

Re: Question? Â*If you had 2 hours to fish
I wouldn't want to go out in the afternoon on a calm summer day. I'd rather go in the morning when it isn't about 97 and about 90% huimidity.

Re: Question? Â*If you had 2 hours to fish
I would probably take the 1.5 hours before sunset and then the following .5 hour of darkness. I think the morning period is better, but I am not a morning person. Also, I feel that the time before sunset is more enjoyable because you know the fishing is only going to get better. Whereas, in the morning, while the sun is rising, the fishing is slowly deteriorating. Good question, though. I'd throw a topwater too. Maybe a High Roller or just a simple shad colored popper.

Man after my admiration 8) Actually I've found that fishing the 2 hours previous to daylight seems to be the most productive on the topwater stuff. But you can obviously catch them anytime on them. But anytime at night, with the Jitterbug is absolute heaven, especially when they hit it right next to the boat . Lizards |

Re: Question? Â*If you had 2 hours to fish
Some of the best summertime bassin comes right before a cold front hits although most angler think that actually gives them lock-jaw and will after the front hits. I would want to fish 2 hours before the front hit while the water was calm. It seems to make big bass go on a feeding frenzy.

Re: Question? Â*If you had 2 hours to fish
As not being known as a "good" early morn. angler, I would go with the middle of the day. Temp N/A.
Alot of fishermen get in the mode of the fact that fewer fish can be caught during mid day. Ideal time to fish is when every one else is either off the lake or starting to get "sloppy" with there presentations. I 've done well in several tournaments by catching fish during mid day hours. Advise: Don't "really" on the morn or the eve. bite. If thats the only times that your effective than you may have a long day. My prime times are between 10:00 and 3:00. |

Re: Question? Â*If you had 2 hours to fish
Providing I knew where there was a thick milfoil patch in 4-10ft. of water within a short distance from the launch, I would pick 11:00 to 1:00 .The calm is alright but I would really like it sunny and about a 1-2 mph south wind since we are dreaming. ;D P N J
