Default Bass Fishing Question

I mostly Bass fish with a Senko worm - texas rigged.

Can you please explain your technique when fishing this style?

I will sometimes "walk" (reel in slowly and pause) the worm across the bottom and sometimes I will slowly reel in while lifting the tip of my rod to make the worm jerk.

All comments greatly appreciated.

i also t-rigg my senkos but i cast them out and let them sink slowly. usually i get a strike on the inital cast, but if i dont get hit on the cast i let it fall to the bottom then pull the worm back up by lifting my rod tip then let it fall slowly again then repeat.

sumal, that is the method I have used to get the most fish!

Although I do prefer walking with a regular ribbon-tail worm, the soft jerk is very good for in the weeds. Sometimes you'll get a lot more bites if you go slow! (But not always)

are you serious? all this time on here, and living by powerbass, and you dont know the texas rig?? do a search on it. and reb should have a pic for you sumal, those techniques are used alot. i also like to dead stik it on slow days. and also i like to peg a bullet weight about half a foot up from the line, then reel it in some, then stop. good luck, and welcome to the forum.

Where did they get the name "Wacky Rig" from? I was fishing that rig back in '95 when they called it the "Jersey Rig" on a Jersey Worm.

http://www.jerseyriggs.com/new_page_8.htm

March, 95. Bassmasters did a story on it.

I've always called it a wacky rig. If I read that article correctly a jersey rig is particular brand of bait, not a tactic. Regardless, it sure works!

You may wish to Carolina rig a senko. Have had good success with this method.
