Default A couple action pics from the 4th...

This one would have came out awesome. But, I left the camera on a very slow shutter speed. It was so slow that it picked up the glare of the line.

When I first saw this fish break the top I thought she was 7+. But she only came in at 5lbs 4oz. Measurements say other wise. 22.5" and 15" girth.

Here she is on the gator grip ruler.

Hoping to get some more pics tomorrow afternoon.

Jason, as I've said before, you do great work! Ever thought about submitting them for publication?

Thanks! I have thought about it. Not to sure how to go about it.

The only thing I do know for certain is that I need a better camera. The one Im using is about 4 years old if I remember correctly.

How can you get that timing down so well? Do you take a series of pics?

I watch the fishing line to get the timing down. You can see when the fish is heading for the surface.

I normally take one photo per jump and I normally wait until I see the head break the surface before I snap the first shot.

Jason, may I ask about your camera gear? What are you shooting with? Are you using 35mm digital? If so, what lenses are you using?

Out of the box Canon A85 with the generic "action" setting. I use the largest file size possible because I know Ill be editing the background out 9 times out of 10. Dont need anyone saying "oh, I know where that is".

I touch up ever photo in PS 7 with your basic "auto" correction filters. Ocasionally I do it manually finding the min. white, min. black, and nuetral color.

My next camera will be a Canon S3. Hopefully Ill be able to pull of some better detail with it.

Yeah. Thats what I got to. My buddy and I both use a Rapala digitals. His is normally 7 oz off of what mine measures. He used his (as it was his fish).

And thanks for the complements everybody.
