Default the fish after curse

so i got out fising this morning, wacky dingers, i am on the boat ramp, you know... the concrete on the side, any way get hooked on one, less that a foot from were i am standing, side sweep and snap the end of my rod off... SOOO. it was protected with a dicks plan, so i have 65.00 on a dicks certificate, i wanna stick to dicks cause with my big spending spree, i wanna get out of this with next to nothing, i have 65.00 plus a 10 off of 50.00 and above card. so 75.00 is the tops, this rod will be used for mainly weigtless sticks and trick worms, with an occasional mr. twister type grub, with a small jig head.

i was thinking a 6' Medium- fast Triumph spinning rod or the 6'8 Medium-fast shimano cellus, leaning toward the triumph, so whats yall opnion

Must have been some side sweep

Then just go for the rod that feels right to you...That's all you can do.

The berkley lighting is better suited to crigging, any 6.5 to 7 ft rod med heavy with a moderate to fast tip will do nicely with senkos, floating worms etc including bp ones well within the 75 dollar range.
The spinning outfit in a med is ok for say spotted bass 12 in in length but lacking when a 3 lber is on the end of it.But at times needed when its a tuff bite.
Your choice your money

Let me ask you a few questions and see what your thinking.

What did you base your choice of power for the rod off of?

Why did you select a fast action rod and how will it effect the sensitivity of the rod?

Is the length of the rod going to be more beneficial for distance or accuracy?

Are the guides on the rod going to support your choice of line?

I am interested in your thought process for the selection of this rod.

These folks know alot more about rods than me.
I have two Med. fasts customs (Legend Blanks) that I use for just exactly what you wanted it for. Both are spinning. Good multi-pupose rod in my opinion.
Also have a Med fast Legend casting with a Tour speed reel.
All rods are good finesse jigging rods and not the worst jerk baiters. I'll throw poppers all day long on a setup like that.
But my original intention for all three was weightless worming.
They are 7 footers. Lighter lure weight=Longer rod.
Since falling in the Rod game I'm a firm believer in buy the best you can afford. For me I'll fish with any rod and have fun with it. But I'll only spend money on quality. I also believe in rod warranty and service also in decission making. I've sent back ten year old rods and got a new in the newest model (don't make the one 'I' broke any more). I loose that with custums but if I built my own garage and it fell on my boat, I wouldn't be looking after the guy who sold me the wood to find the solution or remedy.
Remember, these are only my opinions.

Oh, your story needs a little work.
You sure it didnt happen a little more like this.....
I was fishing the ramp with a couple foot concret wall. I had just tossed the wacky rig out and letting it slowly sink, just like a learned here. Dank if all of a sudden BAM, there goes the slack and then was even pulling drag. Wow what a battle! Jumped once...had to be a five pounder if it was a pound! Got him to the ramp an DUE to the ledge and awkwardness of reaching down and lipping, I choose to swing it in and.........

You forgot the first rule of fishing....It's not a lie if you believe it too!

lol Joe Dog, nope, if was probably a 1 lber dink, and yea, i seen the line followed, and actually seen the bass, and boom side sweeped.

Tav. my choice for the action, is for a sensitive tip, figured i could use the tip to swing the bait (idk?), again the fast tip, figured it would, help, probably gonna use the fused fireline, will mainly be fishin ponds, somtimes the smaller bass i catch will inhale the bait and not move, then run with it, somtimes i gut hook it, so will be using fireline so i can feel bite better. 6 foot, since i will probably be casting no more than 10 feet with this, sometimes more. my though process is kinda skewed, trying to use what i learned here and seen on a few vids, i may be out of the park though.. plus on choice of brand, croix is really nice to me
