Welcome to the forum, JJ!

What I use depends on the water temperature. Above 65 I use something with a lot of movement like the bottom half for a Brush Hog. 65 down to about 50 I like a Zoom chunk, and below 50 I lean towards using real pork. I probably don't use anything longer than 3".

When it comes to pork, I throw the Uncle Josh Phantom Pork, I was lucky enough to get it last season before it hit the market and I really like it. As for plastics I have many but found myself doing the same as Reb, using the back half of my b-hog. But now I use KL Huffer jig trailers, they have all the great quality of a chunk and b-hog, and the plastic is durable too!

Exactly what I use in the 2.5" or 3.5" size. The pork trailers are just to much hassle. They are tough, you really need to slice them up some, and when they dry up, it takes a cutting torch to get em off. JMO of course, I prefer plastics.

Quite awhile obviously. Don't worry, you can catch me, just takes some time, and the bassaholic addiction of course. Yours went to golf for awhile, glad to see it back here where the bassin is. ;D

The best peice of information I can give you on trailers is pick whatever you like or think will work well in your area. ??? Well if you like it you will fish it alot longer than if anyone else will say its what to use. ;D I think its a shorter list on what trailers I don't like to use.I impaled a lizard on a jig and caught bass, there is really no limit to it, just put the jig in high percentage areas and you will get bit and get bit often no matter the trailer. Ditto on the pork frog, but above 50, I use a Crawworm Jig trailer I get from Retriever lures. I pinch an inch or two off so it is only about 2 inches longer than the skirt.

SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH Guys keep this one to yourself!!! :-XMy favorite jig trailer so far has been the new 3X strike king 4" craws that I cut about 2" of the body off just leaving the wide part of the body and the pinchers. These trailers have a lot of action because the new superplastics float making the craw pinchers float up giving your jig a deadly look, they also last for ever. I like using something different from other fishermen because I think bass get used to seeing the same old thing, however I am not saying other common craws and pork frogs won't work. 8)

I mold my own in the style of a Wacko Bat Tail trailer.

Forget the name, I use one of two things- crawdad-closest color to what Im throwin or the tail off one of my heavily used plastics. Well that is until I get out and try the idea Bassintom gave out. 8)
