Mostly catch and release, I go Crappie fishing in early spring to stock the freezer with three or four meals, and will fillet 4 or 5 bass a year along the way. The kids really, really like fish

I normaly release the bass. Until I finnaly catch that whoper that taunts my dreams, he's headed for the wall. I catch my limit on brim, crappie and catfish, release the rest and the keepers go to the fryer. yum

I am mainly release.

I do sometimes have my doubts about releasing my biggest bass on this past July 4th weekend. ( 22.5" 4.5lbs) The more I think about it the more I realize I have been fooled into comparing that fish to more southern fish where they get a bit bigger than ours here in Michigan.

I used to have a big problem with people keeping bass, but who am I to judge ? I do keep a few trout to have smoked each year.I recently caught a 4.5 lb Landlock salmon that is most likely in the process of being smoked as we speak. P N J

CPR all bass. Saltwater is different. Nothing like fresh snook, trout, kingfish, etc.

Almost never keep bass, only one I ever kept was a deep-hooked one we caught while camping on a river. Saltwater is different, catch a few snapper, a few drum, maybe collect a few clams or blue crabs and you've got a meal.

Sometimes we keep fish, but never bass unless it's getting trophied which will only happen if they are around 11 lbs
