Default Motorcycles

I'm looking to buy my first motorcycle within the next year - probably in the winter to get a good deal.

I've priced, reviewed, checked out, etc. mid-level cruisers and plan to buy a Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic. I drove the custom version and liked it. I like the idea of a shaft drive instead of a belt or chain.

Any of you guys have a Yamaha V-Star?

Also, any buying suggestions, personal experiences, etc. with motorcycles is appreciated.

Thanks.

Personally I will never own a motorcycle, because three of my close friends dads died on them in the past 11 months, it's not that they are dangerous, it's the other people on the road that are dangerous. If you do get one though, be careful.

ohhh a crusier i like the looks of the v-star. they are a sweet bike for a crusier you will get a great ridein, very smooth handlin bike. remember full face helmets are great in the winter but you will cook in one during the summer. they make beanie for a reason -their much cooler- i have both.. i prefure either choppers or british crusiers -i have had both..
shorts and motercycles do NOT mix.. i still have both my leather jackets 1 i bought the other i earned..

more than likly i will be joining the ranks of bike riders if the gas goes up like they are prediction..

I ride everyday, and you really have to look both ways whenever you see people stopped on side streets waiting to get into traffic, they look
"right through you" ....
I spend 6.80 every two weeks to go 130 miles...dig that!

The Yamaha V Stars are real popular around here. I don't respect them therefore I don't ride them anymore.I gave my bike away last summer, stupid for giving it away, but that way I don't have to listen to the wife b!tchin about it being in the yard no more.I liked it, the more you pushed it the faster it wanted to go. It wasn't much to look at though.83 GS 1100. P N J

As a matter of fact .Yes I did run the chit out of it.That bike was a rush to ride.As I said I did not have any respect for it, Luckily, I never wrecked it before I parked it, but I had given it every opertunity to do so. P N J
