Default Would love to be a moderator for this site.

I didnt know who exactly to PM so im posting here , hoping you see it. I am on the forums ALL day at work, and a lot during the evening. I love this forum, its one of the few that stay busy, but lately the posts are moronic at best. I want to help restore some order around here.
Thanks

Hey guys... it is really nice to know you care enough to ask, and for that I thank you and appreciate it greatly. We will let you know if we ever open up any positions for extra moderators.

As you saw this weekend we had a few posts and threads that were a bit "moronic" (quoted term of mymomisbecky.. ) and the general forum riff that comes through every once in awhile.

As you can see, it has all been taken care of and you shouldn't see any of that stuff again. Since we have had a very large influx of new members (which is great btw)... I will be setting a tone for standard BassFishin.Com forum protocol that we all love so much!

And if you ever see a post or thread that you don't like... by all means click the: at the bottom left hand corner of the post (under the post-count) and notify me to take action.

I encourage all our members to go into as great of depth in their questions and posts as possible and leave such generic and repetitive questions such as 'What is your favorite lure?' in the Non-Fishing Related Board. While these type posts can seem a bit generic to most, they most always come from well-intentioned members. However, depending on the relevance of the question/thread, it may be moved to the Non-fishing board.

Thanks again for your support and participation! Take care and good fishin'

Kevin

I was thinking of gathering up a list of the most frequently asked questions from new members and have a list of this forums links that have already answered the exact same question.....basically there are a dozen or so most frequently asked questions, a simple search could reveal the answer to a newbie, but as we know, most don't search on thier own, as well as many will repeat the same questions in dif. areas of the forum...given some time we could create a bassfishin.com link that would state frequent questions and have a link from within to answer it....a simple search for some of the better posts shouldn't be too hard...
any ideas ?

Sounds like a plan. But, however will the random posters ever get their post count up?? That's what this is all about! Right? Seriously, JB, that does sound like a feasible plan. Have a section or thread labeled "MOST ASKED QUESTIONS", then go from A-Z.

Kevin, I must say I like how you handle the forum, and appreciate it as well. I like the changes you have made, even though some did take a bit getting used to for puter dummies. It's the same ole same ole. Schools out, and the place goes nuts for a couple of months and then back to the normal. I may not like that too much, but I'm truly getting used to it. That's why I like the "Mark this forum as Read" tool rotfl.

yeah Mr. Kevin Van Dam, while we're on it, I'd also like to thank you, ya see, if it wasn't for this fine site of yours, Lizards wouldn't have invited me fishing, and I wouldn't have had one of the most productive 30 minutes I've ever had on the water, 4 bass between 4-6 lbs in 30 minutes. Lizards found a nice hump in the reservoir that was formed by the original channel, said he saw fish, i asked how deep, he said he said baitfish, he told me how deep they were, I tied on a large crankbait, as he approached a floating island. I chunked that big crankbait out there throwing the lure 175-200 yards running it over that hump. I probably only threw my lure out 8 or 9 times total...ok, maybe 10 or 11. To catch that many big fish in such a short amount of time, with that much line out, wow, puts you on cloud9, wherever the hell that is. Anyway, thanks KVD, lizards, zooker, tom, bf02,powerbass,hulapopper,robzilla,rebasser,jb,wtl ,cranky, can't forget christopherkeene, georgewelcome, pignjig, capt. mike, flfireman, flbassman and everybody else who makes up this site.

Is kevin KVD? Even if he isn't, he still runs a great site... Has anybody read Sowbelly? We get mentioned, I was very proud.

I doubt that the admin is KVD, I can't believe he could fulfill all his public and personal commitments and maintain a web site on top of that, but I agree, I do like the bassfishin.com site and the way it is managed.

Good Job Kevin!

this place is great... not much mroe to it than that. also kevin... i downloaded something, somewhere... and in order to check the box that said i agree to the rules, you had to actually scroll all the way down... while most poeple will just scroll it down, i think some people may actually read the rules and see something about not repeating posts. the dumber people who just dont scroll down at all would probably be the ones asking repetitive questions anyways.

AAGH MAN! Im leaving now. All this time I thought Kevin was KVD. Im truly disappaointed now. I was waiting for him to say my name on the air one day, now I can't watch ESPN anymore. Kevin, great sight, great members. Must feel pretty good to know how many people from across the country have met on here and have actually fished together. Still waiting for a few more to head towards the Stick Marsh.

How about JB and I be the womens judges and You pick someone to help judge the men.Maybe WTL would help you.I will warn you though , if Zooker enters the contest, thats just beer that has been spilled down the front of him. Any Ladies who want to be in the wet t-shirt contest, I am sure Jb and I can come up with some sort of prizes for the winner.Just submit your photo holding a drivers license in the photo and send it in care of JB, or P N J by instant message here. Shirts are optional, JB can always photoshop a shirt to post the winning contestant. P N J
