Saltwater Suggestions

This week my dad is taking me to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel for an allday and all night fishing trip, leaving the next day. We will be fishing 3.5 miles offshore off a pier, have never been saltwater pier fishing, in water this deep. Any suggestions on rigs, or lures. We will be live bait fishing on at least 2 poles, then the or 2 will be lures.

Drove over it once or twice and took a stroll down the pier. I'm thinking that the water isn't too deep there. There are plenty of rigs you can use for fishing like this. Most any saltwater fishing place around there will have pre-rigged rigs, they'll be wire leaders w/ 2-3oz metal weights on the end with 2 hooks on mono leaders off to the side. You could always do something to the effect of a carolina rig with a big weight in front of a swivel w/ a leader on the other side. Don't worry, you'll figure it out eventually

Great place to fish I heard we'll probably get most of our stuff from the closest bait shop. We'll be going back in the fall, when the fishings better.
