Not a chance. The Ribbon tail worm was specifically designed to provide it's action with the tail, not the body of the worm. It's great to be creative, but not like that.

I don't always have one tied on but they are unbeatable if your taking a kid or a buddy that hasn't fished a lot to a pond. i always have a senko tied on if im going to a new pond. you don't even have to use the exspensive "Gary Yamamotto" senkos, but you can use any worm pretty much. i use a 2ot hook, but my friend who moved from Idaho swears on the circle hook. just an opinion though. you can catch some big fish on such a small bait though. i caught a 6 and a hald pounder and ive caught tons of threes and fours during tournaments.
