I live only 10 miles from lake erie, and fish it often, mainly for lm and sm bass, and occasionaly some perch. You can launch from many places that include Sandusky, Port Clinton, and Huron, depends on where your'e at! I have a bunch of nice backwater secret honey holes for bass, mainly lm but an occasional smallmouth. If you want any more info let me know!

You had better find where the big smallies are because that is what always seem to win the Erie tourney's. I have fished 2 tourney's there out of Sandusky. Both tourney I fished as a non-boater. The first tourney both the boater and I blanked, and got caught in a Thunderstorm. The winning weight was around 23lbs all were smallies. The second tourney I fished with a guy who didn't drive more than 5 minutes from the launch. I fished for LM all day and caught 2 along the riprap bank we fished ALLLLLLLLLLL day. Anyway you need to get on the fish by GPS probably. If you go to FLW.com, and go to the BFL division, and look at the "Buckeye" division, under tourneys for last year they will tell you the winnere were always using Gobie's or Tubes, and were dragging them. Sorry but I can't help with any locations, I don't know any.
