im sure thats a fine way of saying, i just have never heard it put that way. i would have just sayed the specifics(i.e. gear ratio, use, etc.) that i was gunna use it for. i dont like to really buy reels off the internet, i like to get a feel for them at the store before i buy it. but to each his own.

Hey NJ, You might check with Pig n jig. He just posted some reels he has for sale. All will work quite well for you, but they may be a bit out of your price range. A couple of them will be close, though.

As a general rule(not always mind you), the 100 series is the smaller version, and the 500 is the larger version. For example, Shimano makes a model 100B, and a 200B of the Curado(and lots of variations of these) The 100 hold less line, and is lighter in weight. It doesn't have a different gear ratio, but if you are using larger diameter line, then the 200 would be a better choice. On Spinning reels, for example the Quantum Pulse reels will come in PL10, PL20, PL30, and PL40. The spool size and line capacity increase as the numbers get higher. I will generally buy the larger size for line capacity, and casting distance is better IMO. Not that they are called a Medium or Medium Heavy, but there are differences that somewhat place them in those categories.
