Bama, you've got more local knowledge in that head of yours than any SD card. All the electronics, charts, high $$ equipment and tackle in a bass boat, won't give anyone an edge on a local, in a rowboat, with a canepole and a can or worms. I wouldn't begin to presume otherwise

Hey John, here's what I did. When I called to reserve the lodge at Dale Hollow, I asked if they knew of anyone that could do a Dale Hollow bassfishin' seminar for us. That's when they gave me the name of Stephen Headrick and the phone number to his shop.

That would be pretty cool. I bet it would've been at the Hollow had the whole thing not fallen apart. I guess Bryce didn't get the memo that the fish weren't bitin!

It would have been. Everything was planned out. We had reserved the Star Point Lodge at Dale Hollow. "The SmallMouth Guru" Stephen Headrick, had committed to holding a fishing Seminar for us at the Lodge. Unfortunately due to the bad economy and the "hard times" everyone were having, the get together sort of fell apart. Hopefully next year we'll have better luck.

Woody, that place was perfect. You couldn't have lined up a better place. Hopefully we can try again in the next few years.

I second that totally! The resort and accommodations were AWESOME. It was the little problem of the armageddon-style flood that messed everything up. Can't do anything about that. Just bad luck...and a fisherman so dead set on fishing the Hollow he refused to not go haha.

I'm glad to hear that Star Point Resort lived up to its billing. Just might see about making a visit next year.

Is there, by chance, an ACADEMY store nearby? I'm sorely tempted to buy some of their H2O baits while I'm visiting below the Mason Dixon.

John, I think we need to pick a date now. Guys who work may need to get their vacation time now so they need to know when it is.

The second weekend being the 6-9th, the third being the 13-15th, and fourth being 20-22 (dated include friday-sunday), my vote is for the 13-15th. The 6-9th includes the last day of finals for me and I'll be very busy that week with no time to prepare. The 20th-22nd would also work.

I vote for the 20-22. We do NOT want to wait for the Memorial Day weekend of 27-29. Pleasure boaters and lake lice coming out of our ears.

Good point. Lower wheeler gets lots of pleasure boaters on holidays. Very wide open water, good for jet skis, and everybody in the area owns 1 or 2 boats. I can still find secluded water, but its tougher.

Wilson lake is a tailwater, so no jetskis, but lines of boats start developing to drift in the current during holiday weekends.

Of course the rest of the lake is still available, as is nightfishing.

But we want 3rd weekend. Or June?

3rd or 4th weekend in May is good for me. No way I drive the interstates or fish big water during MEMORIAL DAY weekend. .
